Beato me! Beati loro! But.. what does it mean?

How to use the word “beato” in Italian

The word ‘Beato‘ is an adjective indicating a person who feels very happy about themselves or the good fortune of someone else. It can be translated into English as ‘lucky’ or, even more accurately, ‘very lucky’.

  • Beato lui che va ogni mese in vacanza! – Lucky him, who goes on vacation every month!

Beato me!

Beato often appears in combination with the Italian pronouns me/te/lui/lei/noi/voi/loro. In such cases is an exclamation of good fortune.

  • Beato me! – lucky me
  • Beato te! – lucky you
  • Beato lui! – lucky him
  • Beata lei! – lucky her
  • Beati noi! – lucky us
  • Beati voi! – lucky you (all)
  • Beati loro! – lucky them
