I like these podcasts. However I find the background music so distracting. Why play music when the objective is to listen to the words? Sorry but the music is too intrusive.

Ciao Peter – I happy you appreciate my work! Before I started the Podcast, I made a double version of Episode #1 with and without background music and had my existing students listen to it: 100% told me that they preferred the one with the background music, so I went for that. Rest assured, next time you will be in Italy practicing your Italian, it will most probably happen in a busy street, train station, or bar. If you know a little bit of Italy, there is AWAYS a background distracting noise 🙂

Hello, Sarah. It’s almost impossible to be in Italy and hear a conversation without any background noise/sound/music. That’s why I went with the music as a background (90 percent of my students love and enjoy it). If the music is too distracting, maybe consider switching to a simpler audio source.
      Buono studio dell’italiano!

I love these podcasts Serena, and especially having both the slow and normal speeds. I feel that the background music enhances my learning. Many thanks!
