Italy is by far the most diverse country in Europe. After all, each of its 20 different regions has its own unique culture, customs, and history that set it apart from the rest. In this short book for beginner Italian language learners, Costanza and Anna, you’ll go on an adventure in one of Italy’s many territories. This time, you’ll be heading to the picturesque and magical Valle d’Aosta, the country’s smallest region. This hidden gem is nestled between France and Switzerland and is a paradise for anyone who enjoys nature, good food, and road trips.

Why Learn Italian Through Stories?
When it comes to learning languages, textbooks and grammar exercises certainly have their place. But there’s something special about learning through stories. When you’re immersed in a good book, your mind naturally absorbs vocabulary and grammar patterns. Before you know it, you’ll remember new terms and phrase structures just by reading them in a story you can’t put down.

I’ve read two of Capilli’s books now and they are both very readable and enjoyable. This one is at a good level for an advanced beginner as it keeps you engaged with a story and teaches you actual useful words and concepts. I re-read them often as they are a good read and a useful review of Italian words and phrases. Highly recommended.
Good story for Italian learners with a charming Italian Christmas atmosphere. I’ve purchased a few books by this author and enjoy the chapter, vocabulary, tips, and quiz/comprehension format. I have the physical book, which has plenty of space to write notes or translations between the lines.
I recently read this Italian reader and absolutely loved it. The story follows Costanza and her friend Anna on a two-week adventure in the charming city of Aosta. Their plans for skiing and hiking in the beautiful Alpine setting take an unexpected turn when a fierce snowstorm hits, which made the narrative even more engaging. As someone at the A1-A2 level, I found the vocabulary lists, idiomatic expressions, and cultural insights incredibly helpful. The comprehension exercises reinforced what I learned, and the included audio significantly improved my listening and pronunciation skills. It's rare to find beginner-level materials that are both educational and genuinely enjoyable, but this book truly fits the bill. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their Italian in a fun and intuitive way.
