For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Serena Capilli is the Data Controller of personal data collected through this website.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal information only when necessary to provide our services or when you choose to provide it.
This may include:
- your name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter;
- information about your interactions with our newsletters, such as email opens and link clicks, where tracking is enabled;
- limited technical and usage information required for website security and analytics.
We do not directly collect or store payment card information through Italianpills.com.
3. Newsletter and email marketing
If you subscribe to the our newsletter, your email address and any information you provide through the signup form are processed for the purpose of sending you newsletters, updates, Italian learning content, information about books, products and other relevant communications.
We use MailerLite to manage our subscriber list and send emails.
MailerLite may process subscriber information and use technologies such as web beacons and link tracking to provide information about newsletter performance, including email opens and link clicks.
The legal basis for sending marketing emails is your consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included at the bottom of every newsletter.
MailerLite acts as a service provider in connection with our email marketing activities and processes data according to its own contractual and data-protection obligations.
4. Contact forms
When you contact us through a form on ItalianPills.com, we may collect your name, email address and the contents of your message.
We use this information only to respond to your request and communicate with you where necessary.
Our website currently uses Forminator to manage website forms and Easy WP SMTP to facilitate the technical delivery of website emails.
Submitting a contact form does not automatically subscribe you to our marketing newsletter unless you separately choose to subscribe.
5. Website analytics
ItalianPills.com uses Independent Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages are visited and how visitors find the site.
Independent Analytics operates locally within our WordPress installation. According to its developer, analytics data is stored in the website’s WordPress database and is not transmitted to Independent Analytics’ servers.
Independent Analytics does not use cookies for normal visitor analytics and does not store visitors’ IP addresses. IP addresses may be processed temporarily to determine approximate geographic information and to generate a one-way hashed visitor identifier.
We use this information to understand and improve the performance, content and usability of ItalianPills.com.
6. Spam prevention and website security
We use security and anti-spam technologies to protect ItalianPills.com and its forms from automated abuse.
The website uses Google reCAPTCHA for security, fraud and abuse prevention. In connection with reCAPTCHA, certain technical information may be processed by Google on our behalf.
As of April 2026, Google describes reCAPTCHA customers as data controllers and Google as the data processor for reCAPTCHA Customer Data.
We also use Akismet to help detect and prevent spam.
7. Purchases and external stores
Italianpills.com does not currently process book or product payments directly on the website.
Links on this website may direct you to third-party platforms such as Amazon or Gumroad, where you can purchase books, subscriptions or other products.
When you leave ItalianPills.com and complete a purchase on one of these platforms, that platform is responsible for processing the information you provide to it, including payment information, according to its own privacy policy and terms.
ItalianPills.com does not receive or store your complete payment card details from these transactions.
8. External links and embedded content
ItalianPills.com may contain links to third-party websites and services, including book retailers, podcast platforms, social media platforms and other external resources.
When you follow an external link, the privacy practices of that third party apply.
Some pages may also contain embedded content or media. Embedded third-party content may behave in a similar way to visiting the third party’s website directly and may collect technical information or use cookies according to that provider’s practices.

Italianpills.com may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for website functionality, security or specific third-party services.
Independent Analytics itself does not require analytics cookies.
Google reCAPTCHA may use the _grecaptcha cookie in connection with its security and abuse-prevention functions.
