The plot
Giulio has planned every detail of his start-up team’s trip to Taormina. But when they arrive at the hotel, their booking has vanished.
An unexpected invitation takes them to the wedding of a Sicilian actress and an American director. Then a valuable ancient Greek vase disappears, and their holiday takes a surprising turn.
Follow Giulio and his colleagues through the streets of Taormina, down to the sea at Isola Bella, and up to Castelmola. Along the way, discover Sicily and learn words and expressions you can use in everyday conversations in the context of a little engaging and cultural relevant soy.
Written in accessible Italian for upper A2–B1 learners, Viaggio in Sicilia gives you a chance to see the grammar and vocabulary you’ve studied at work in a story.

THE METHOD
The power of learning through stories
Why learn Italian through stories?
When you read a short story in easy Italian, you encounter vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns in context, not as isolated rules.
Italian graded readers are especially useful because they are written for a specific language level. They give you repeated exposure to words and structures you may already have studied, while helping you see how they are actually used in a story.
As you read, listen, and talk about the story, you begin to notice useful expressions and sentence patterns more naturally. Over time, this helps you consolidate what you’ve already learned and become more confident using Italian yourself.
Read. Listen. Reread. Talk about it.
This is one of the simplest ways to make Italian feel less like something you study and more like something you use.
Readers say:
Viaggio in Sicilia is a wonderfully engaging read for anyone learning Italian. The language is clear and easy to follow and the audio useful and helpfully paced. It also immerses you in Sicilian landscapes and culture, so you are practicing Italian while enjoying a genuinely atmospheric story. Fabulous.
I just started reading it. So far so good, just like the rest of Serena’s books.

Read a story. Listen to it. Explore Sicily.
Pick up new words, everyday expressions, and see the grammar you’ve studied come together in a story.
