In this guide, I’ve gathered the most effective and accessible Italian learning resources I recommend to my private students in my online Italian classes at Italian Pills: tools designed to consolidate grammar, expand vocabulary, and boost confidence in real-world communication — and in a genuinely fun way.
My tip: choose one or two tools to combine with your weekly Italian classes — private or group. Finish one before moving to the next. And ask your tutor to structure your speaking sessions around what you’ve been reading or listening to. It’s through guided conversation that fluency actually happens.
One last thing: don’t spread yourself too thin. A mix of ten different materials is never as good as committing to two or three really well.
Reading and Listening Resources for Intermediate Learners

At the intermediate level, it’s tempting to jump straight into native content — but most shows and videos are still too fast or complex for comfortable learning. Instead, look for adapted or semi-authentic content that’s just challenging enough to stretch your skills without overwhelming you. This sweet spot is where real learning happens.
YouTube — Native Creators Worth Following
The trick at A2–B1 is to watch Italians talking about things you already know well. Familiar topics fill the comprehension gaps, so your brain is learning the language, not decoding the subject. Here are a few creators whose content is natural, engaging, and not too fast:
